I am running Office 2013 under Windows 7 and, since updates last week (9th January 2018), Microsoft Equation 3.0 is no longer available. This is a very serious problem as I have thousands of equations in hundreds of documents (used for teaching, research and publishing) that are currently un-editable. I have Office 2016 running under Windows 10 on my home PC and Equation 3.0 is still available there. Can Microsoft indicate whether or not Equation 3.0 has been intentionally removed from Office 2013 and can they furthermore indicate whether upgrading to Office 2016 under Windows 7 would restore Equation 3.0. A slightly awkward but workable solution has been found on by Guy Bouyrie. If you can get hold of a copy of the Equation 3.0 program, double click on the file EQNEDT32.EXE to run the equation editor.
